H.O.P.E. (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment) album released under Star Records features the country’s premiere vocal group – The CompanY. The group contributed two tracks on this fund raising album project namely: Time and Love (original, never been released) written by Moy Ortiz and “Something Good” (live recording from the Let’s Kick Some BrASS concert at the Main theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines).

The H.O.P.E. album has generated an amount of Php 1,082,171.65 for the sales period of December 2007 to February 2008. The amount has helped the two cancer foundations in supporting a thousand cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.

The CompanY sings at Rudy "Daboy" Fernandez's wake

Manila Bulletin - June 13, 2008

Movie Industry bids Daboy Goodbye by Crispina Martinez Belen

Another good friend of Daboy, Tirso Cruz III, sang his own moving composition which he simply titled "Daboy’s Song." Other performers that night were Dulce, Ogie Alcasid and Pops Fernandez ("You Raise Me Up"), Regine Velasquez ("Somewhere"), The Company ("Seasons of Love") and Christopher de Leon ("Amazing Grace"). The program had Ricky Davao and Lani Mercado.

Sharon Cuneta’s speech was the longest, and expectedly so considering her penchant for spontaneous storytelling. She recalled fond and memorable moments with Daboy and Lorna, laughing and crying interchangeably. She remembered how Daboy hated it when some movie workers were referred to as "little people." And remembering Rudy’s failed political ambition, Sharon said "we lost someone with the sincere desire to serve."

Other speakers were Daboy’s sons Mark Anthony, RapRap and Renz, his two grandchildren and wife LT who asked for his guidance as she will be both mother and father to their children with his passing. "Be my angel in heaven," she said. She thanked all those who helped and supported them, and in closing Lorna said "I love you very much, wait for me, until we meet again."

Also there to offer their condolences were Senators Manny Villar, Jamby Madrigal, Alan Cayetano and Rep. Cynthia Villar.

Rudy’s remains were interred yesterday at The Heritage Park.

The CompanY begins production on their 18th album entitled Group Hug, a tribute to various music groups. The new album features Gerard Salonga and his orchestra, FILharmoniKa. Group Hug is produced both by Moy Ortiz and Gerard Salonga for Viva Records and is scheduled for release on September 2008.

The CompanY's first session for Group Hug was an a cappella version of the ABBA hit, "Take A Chance On Me". Moy Ortiz penned this vocal arrangement. This song also features DJ Myke (Salomon) of Sabado Boys and the Akafellas. DJ Myke is considered by many as the premiere beatbox/ vocal percussionist of Asia.
