Successful Big Band Show for the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia - Ms. Quentin Bryce
Our sincere thanks good friends for your kind words and well wishes. Am very happy to share with you that the big band show for the Australian Governor General BryceState dinner was a huge success! We got to meet and speak with the two heads of state. They were very generous with their compliments. We sort of panicked when 3 hours before the performance, President Aquino requested an obscure song from our 1998 RecycleDeluxe album - "Goodbye Columbus" (1967 hit by the Associations for the film with the same name). We have not sung the song in 12 years and had to deliver the goods! All went swimmingly well! (sorry could not resist using that idiomatic phrase because summer is just too damn hot!) Thank you God! Thank you President Aquino, Social Secretary Susan, Miguel Minana, Mel Villena, Bituin Escalante, Richard Poon, Shirley Halili Dance Company and AMP BIG BAND! It was a pleasure and privilege singing big band jazz for our country!!
